A beautiful alpine lake near the foot of Mount Sarrail, with jade green waters and emerald meadows surrounding it, Rawson Lake is a photographers dream and a nature lover’s sanctuary. The lake is stocked with Cutthroat Trout corralled by a small man-made dam near the outflow. Be sure to check fishing regulations before you try to catch your lunch though!
This hike is a cardio boosting, steady climb through a subalpine forest. The trail arrives at a beautiful alpine lake surrounded by mountain peaks and green meadows. Albertawow.com describes the Rawson Lake hike as “possibly the nicest hike located in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park…. …Rawson Lake is a classic example of a mountain Tarn Lake. It's a stunning emerald green color and crystal clear. “
